As previously mentioned, if I had better guest privileges, we would have already had the TexAgs Aoudad Massacre.

I'll make a post later about my Aoudad Meat. Happy to give it to anyone that wants it.

I'll give it a go if you've still got some to get rid of when I get back from Costa Rica.

And I'm on the "Hunter Angler Gardner Cook" page too. Definitely some folks who thing aoudad can be quite tasty. I'd post on there but I'm in FB jail for quoting the movie "Snatch" about Pikeys and it being deemed "hate speech" after being warned for making the sarcastic statement about some millennial BS when I said "****ing white people ruin everything." I guess whitey can't make fun of whitey anymore.

I got Drawn on this hunt for January 21-24, looking forward to the hunt that's for sure. Anything that you wish you had brought with you?

The only thing I can think of that I didn't have was a small portable stool. The small 3 leg ones. LIke I said where we were getting prone wasn't an option and I'm not flexible enough to comfortably sit on the ground behind my tripod/shooting sticks. I was always looking for a rock seat and it would have been better if I had my own seat. When I was there I found a foam seat to put on the rocks while glassing, so I would recommend that.

Bring more water than you think you will need.

Tweezers, you will most likely be pulling a few thorns from your hands, arms and legs. Multi-tool is not a very good pair of tweezers. Ha.

Good luck!
TexAgs: as long as we have each other, we will never run out of problems.

Man a stool/foam pad and tweezers are great recommendations. I just booked a small cabin at McKenna Ran h since the bunk house was full. I am looking forward to the hunt for sure!

I had kind of forgot about that foam seat until I thought about your question. Found it the first day and made sure I didn't lose it too. Mckenna Ranch is a nice place, you are right by the SNA, but the commute is still 30 minutes to the ranger station. Interesting drive though, lots of whitetail and axis deer on Dolan creek road

I just added one of the Therma seat foam cushions should easily be able to attach it to the pack!

One last thing. Not joking about bringing a backup of everything. Del Rio is a good drive and not something you want to do after climbing, trekking and hunting all day, even from McKenna ranch. That little "store" at Loma Alto doesn't have much, as in nothing really even if it is open.

Once again, good luck and give us a write up up and better photos than I did.
