Thinking about picking one of these up. I really enjoy shooting over and unders during dove season and thought this looked like a good option during duck season. Anybody have one of these yet? Thoughts?

Never seen an OU for ducks, but there is a first for everything. It is certainly light enough, only concern if it can stand up to the muck of duck hunting. You also obviously lose a shell with this design.

I am sure it swings nice, which is where OUs excel and Browning makes a nice gun. If like you it, get it.

I agree with Gmaster...only drawback I see is the loss of one shot.

What are you currently duck hunting with and are you looking for a Duck gun or just buying because it's a OU for waterfowl? Pretty cool looking guns and priced close to a top Benelli or Beretta Xtreme+.

Personally though, I'd have a tough time giving up the 3rd shot and ease of reloading in tight conditions with thick gloves that a semi-auto provides. My Xtreme Plus did great last year for me. I wouldn't trade it for the Cynergy if someone offered a straight up swap.

Great looking gun. Just have a very lightly used Cynergy come in last night in Max5. It's everything I can do not to hit the receiver/barrels with burnt bronze and make a... Mischevious Wing.... haha... version.

I hunt OUs (when I can actually get out in the field, which is stupidly rare) even for ducks/dove. For me, I am much more comfortable with an OU so losing the shot isn't as bad as not enjoying the shooting as much as I would with a shell shucker. Plus, it sure is nice not having to police my shells at the end of the day when others are bent over picking them up.

I've shot a 20g o/u in teal season the past two years. Sure losing the 3rd shot hurts in some sets. I've noticed it helps me slow down and really weigh if I've got a bead on it though. So I find myself taking better shots with o/u

Ditto, for whatever reason I just shoot better with an over/under. Excited to find an option that appears to be suited to hold up to the weather conditions.

Yeah, this thing lasts through the season and doesn't move, it's going home

Got a cynergy a little over a year ago. Love the way it fits. I typically will only get two shots off while pheasant hunting so the loss of a third shot didn't matter to me. Had I really done my research though I think I would have gone with a Citori. Just a little more. I will say I use it for both clays & birds. Can't go wrong either way.

FWIW, I have a wicked wing A5 that I'm in love with. Has held up great. But of course I don't have a break over action to worry about in the muck. But I'd suspect browning thought about that.

It doesn't have swing swivels either, which for me is a big deal. I like a sling for when I setup for snow geese and for when I am bush whacking to setup on remote ponds or marsh.

Good catch, I didn't notice that. I use the hell out of my sling on my current duck gun.

Depends on how you look at it. Unless we're just mowing them down, that third shot is normally an FU Hailmary long shot that normally doesn't yield anything anyways.

Love me a Cynergy.

Eyeguy, I'm gonna need the details on that used one you have in stock to make sure I don't need to drive up there and take it home.

12ga, 1 1/2 years old. According to the seller, 4 range trips with it, never been hunted. I usually take that with a grain of salt, and still do here, but I'm very inclined to believe him. He brought in six guns to sell and was very good and upfront on the amount of usage on all of them and very knowledgeable about shooting in general. It's in phenomenal shape. Full camo. IC,M, F chokes and wrench. $1450 on it.

And before someone else asks, the other guns were two Sig Legion 226 SAO 9mms, Kimber K6s, Sig P320 and a Sig 290RS. The only reason he was selling was that he got thrown from a horse and had to have back surgery, these guns are the ones he can't shoot anymore (except the 290, that was his wife's gun and she's since upgraded). So, he brought them in, I gave him some money and we're also building him a 300HAMR.

A buddy of mine has had one for a year now. He loves it. Refuses to shoot anything else but an O/U, because he doesn't have to go hunting for shells after his auto loader throws them 20' from where he is at.

Looked at these a few times. I always thought an o/u would be a more simple action as opposed to a semi auto in a duck hunting situation. In the event it got dropped in the mud or whatever it should be pretty easy to clean without much disassembly. Maybe this is flawed logic.
FIDO*98*
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I don't think the logic is flawed, but, the Semis like the Benelli SBE and Beretta A400 Xtreme can handle it. They just build them better these days.

If you shoot better with the O/U, it would be hard to wrong with this Cynergy in a Duck Blind. I'd be lying if I didn't think about calling EyeGuy on that used one.....you know for the kids.

Just picked one up in the bottom lands camo pattern, won't be able to go hunting this weekend but I'll definitely be throwing some steel next weekend if the birds cooperate.

Have a Cynergy field grade (not wing master) & thoroughly love it. Problem is that my oldest boy has gotten used to shooting it for his 4H project. Needless to say I haven't shot it a lot lately.

They are great guns. Hydrodip finish will hold up as well as a hydrodip finish on any gun. I shoot an old Citori just about anytime a shotgun is called for. That said, several years ago I found a pothole in the marsh walking to the blind in the morning and my Citori got dunked. Took me about 4 hours to take it apart and clean it when I got home (you have to pull the stock to get to the mechanism). That was the day I decided to quit shooting an OU for ducks unless in a blind on land...

When firing waterfowl loads (Hevi Bismuth #4), the Cynergy Wicked Wing's trigger guard strikes my middle finger hard enough to cause swelling and bruising. Anyone else experience and remedy this?
BMach
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Haven't had that issue with mine.
