Thanks to Highvelocity for the recommendation on the Sightmark photon RT as a cheaper option to thermal. Ive always had an aversion to spending money on tech stuff so the price of thermal didn't jive. Academy has these on sale right now for $350. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/sightmark-photon-rt-45-x-42s-digital-night-vision-riflescope#repChildCatid=5411264 Thermal really shines for locating pigs out in the open when walking or riding. This scope seems to be plenty for over a feeder, when you know where theyll be.
First video is no infrared with just the light from the solar feeder lights. Tried to spine him but obviously didn't work. I looked for a little bit but didn't have a good light.
Second video, I spotted him at the feeder from about 150 yards out and then eased up to about 40. Wasn't brave enough to go digging through the brush after that much pork in the dark. Going to head back and look for them in a little bit. Round was 7.62x39.
Pic of second boar.
