Sides? Why do you want to waste your time with sides!?

But since you ask - white bread.

And maybe some pickles and onions. Maybe.

The Big Bib in San Antonio has a baked potato casserole and a sweet potato casserole that are heavenly. BBQ pretty good too. Especially for SA.

For me it doesn't get any better than the Tater salad at Pappa'a BBQ. Change my mind.

I dont disagree...however B-1 83's recipe isnt just beans straight outta the can.... added are all the things I mentioned... meat (bacon) onion, peppers..... what I was talking about is bbq places that open a can of beans, warm them up and serve them.

LJ's in Brenham has the absolute best Mac n Chesse I've ever tasted. That's being said from someone whose not a huge Mac n cheese consumer. It's legendary.

The cabbage at Soulmans is great, but I prefer the cabbage or/or collard greens at Hardeman's.

Coopers pinto beans! They are great and free refills.
Not everyone gets the same version of me. One person might tell you I have an amazing beautiful soul. Another might tell you I’m a cold-hearted a$$^ole. Believe them both. I don’t treat people badly. I treat them accordingly - unknown

I really miss the beans at Joe Cotten's. They were probably a tic saltier than most but it gave them that just right bite that went well with the meat. Everybody serves beans, I liked Cotten's the best.

While I'm reminiscing about that I also miss the ice cream dessert. Just simple single scoop of vanilla or strawberry ice cream in a stainless cup, but with a chocolate mint, whole cherry, and short piece of peppermint stick. All served by a familiar waiter in a vest with bow tie who never let your drink get anywhere near empty without giving you the opportunity to have it topped off - all class.

I do not like slaw - but eat at Tucker's on the regular and can vouch that people will drive a long way just for this Broccoli slaw. Not MY favorite - but you are not wrong for a lot of people!
Well, okay then

Cream corn at J. Cody's in Bryan. I used to think I hated cream corn since as a kid I had to have it from a can. I was at an event catered by J. Cody's a few years back and people were raving about it. I said "no, thanks" but was instructed "you *need* to try this!"

Have loved it ever since.

I'm also a fan of the Cheesey Squash that John Mueller was putting out in Georgetown.

FYI, he has abandoned Wilco and is currently operating out of a side building at Uncle Gary's Bar in Pflugerville (Sat-Sun 12pm-sold out.)
