When I first started fly fishing I posted on this board asking for advice on white bass near Fort Worth. He sent me a PM with his number. We talked for a while and I got some great advice. As if that wasn't enough he then mailed me a half a dozen flies he tied to get me going. I still have and fish them.

I planned a brookie fishing trip up here a few years ago and Neel sent me a check that day to cover all the cabins, for everyone, in full, for the week.

I'm going to go start a giant campfire in the backyard and chug a bunch of bourbon in NW80's honor.

Doc was a great source of support in every way when my daughter was ill and I am glad we got to share a trip to Belize. He was one of the first people to call me when Jenny and I got the opportunity to run El Pescador Belize and was so happy for us. RIP and Gig'em my friend.

I lurk a lot on the OB and I've always enjoyed his advice. Sounds like we lost a good one boys.

Since there are some longtime posters on this board like NW80, and the 1944 Ag that killed Nazis, etc.,that have passed away, would it be possible to start a "banner thread" where longtime respected posters could have their handles listed once they have passed (confirmed of course). A stickie thread at the top?

Just a thought. If a stupid one, no biggie. I really don't know if this idea would be a good one for other boards on Texags, but this board seems like that would be a good fit.

I rotated with him at Memorial Hermann Hospital in medical school and then happened to run into him again here on TexAgs accidentally.

When he realized I had an interest in native plants and also lived in Georgetown he invited me to his house to see his landscaping. It was only after I showed up at his house that I realized NW80 was the same Dr. Drue Ware I knew from Medical school. We drank beer and B.S.'ed away the rest of the day sharing old hunting and fishing stories and talking about Red.

He was a hell of a man and physician. He will be missed.
