if you invite giddings, you will have not issues with hogs in the future....they run when they know he is hunting

Animals, especially hogs fear me.

I've got this one old pecan that is 18.5 feet in circumference that the "pecan guy" says is diseased. Still looks majestic out in the coastal pasture with full foliage. But, I'm just waiting for it to die so that I can hire to you build something out of it. About to harvest an old cedar on the current place that I want to do the same....has a lot of sentimental value.

Out of curiosity, is it north of Muenster/St Joe or Rosston? (I'm from Muenster originally, so I'm familiar with the area.)
South of Saint Jo.....west of Rosston.....north of Forestburg...frontage on FM 677.

Speaking from experience ......have an attorney write up a hold harmless release of liability. If firearms are involved on your property you need to have anyone with a gun sign one of these before stepping foot on your property, whether they are paying anything or not. Find an attorney who has done these before so it is worded correctly and protects you.

Great advice. Thanks.....the release was written by an attorney with a focus on RE law and used for many of his clients' much more expensive properties.

I'm in Collin county and would be interested. I think a waiver would be a really good idea. Also, I would also want to meet you out there the first time just to get the lay of the land and put a face with the name. I don't really have any buddies that hunt but my 10 & 12 year old boys would enjoy it. My email is my username at hotmail if you end up going that route.
Thanks for the response. However, one thing I really wish to avoid is children on the place that I am not directly supervising. Sorry.

Have gun, will travel; Army medic/EMT/Eagle Scout, etc.

Late to the party here, but I'll throw my hat in as well, if you get that low on the list. I'm in Denton.

I'm the OP's Son and have hunted this place a couple of times last year for predators. I don't really have any advice on hunting it for hogs with a rifle though. Almost all of the hog hunting I have ever done is with dogs on large properties around the Bryan/College Station area.

I know there are some big hogs on it by the tracks in the creek and signs I have seen. If you are patient, unlike I am, you will see some. I'd recommend bringing a rifle that you are comfortable making 100+ yard shots with.

do you have an idea on movement times? i'd assume evenings / early morning, but if they arent getting any pressure i'm sure they are out at all times?

I've been at A&M the whole time we've owned it so I haven't been able able to fully get a feel for wildlife movement through the place. My guess is that they move through the creeks and come up in the mornings or evenings and rut up the sides of the hills and a few other places. It is a fun place to hunt because the lay of the land offers something for everyone depending on where you sit.
