We just went with the new model of basically the same oven. A local company does custom trim kits for these types of installs. They're going to make a trim piece that looks like a vent that will cover the gap from the shorter microwave.

I could have ordered the convection type microwave but had already ordered the Advantium ahead of time. I'm paying about $600 more for a function I don't use. Maybe I'll see if it's actually good for anything since I'm paying for it.

So you spent another $2,000+ on another microwave?? Should have spent far less and paid for some anger management classes.

I have heard of custom trim kit companies like Micro-Trim and I think Trim Kits USA is another, and it does sound like a good solution for your situation. As for the speed cook feature, I'd say it's definitely worth taking a shot at if you're paying for it. We like to demo Advantiums in our showrooms because of how quickly they can cook, without just tasting like you nuked something. Did you get the 120V or 240V version? Either way, I recommend trying something like a lasagna just to see how much time it can save.
