I have a V-Bob, mint condition, never been fired. Been sitting in the safe for 5 or 6 years. I have the full-sized Valor as well. Both are beauties. I shoot the Valor, but the V-bob has never been shot or carried. Not sure I want to sell it right now, but maybe someday.

for 1-2k you can't go wrong on a 45. find a range that will let you shoot a selection. buy the one you like. i am biased toward kimbers because i have shot them a lot.

DW offers a better value whereas EB offers better quality and more customization options but at a higher entry point. If your budget allows, EB. If not, can't go wrong with DW.

Dan Wesson is producing excellent production pistols.

Ed Brown is custom stuff in a different league. I own 3 and they are the Ferrari of 1911s.

To summarize, DW is a better product than Colt, Kimber, Remington, Ruger, etc.... The next level up is Brown, Baer and Wilson. I'm gong to add Alchemy Custom Weapons to that list. A semi=custom maker that has recently been acquired by Cabot. Then you get to the true custom makers like Chen, Rogers, Yost, Burton, and others.

I currently carry a DW, a Wilson and a true custom built by Wayne Novak. They are all great guns, just different levels of quality and price.

Stainless. Distressed finish.

Looks sharp and a lot of gun for the money.

That's the one. It looks great, fits great, and the trigger pull is a whole different experience compared to my other pistols.

I think I got a decent deal, but I don't know for sure. $1649 + tax.

I am partial to Ed Brown. I got lucky and found a new Kobra for $1900 one day. Such a sweet pistol.
