My family and I are heading up to the Broken Bow area next month and getting a cabin for a few days.

What hiking or biking trails do you recommend?
What recommendations for things not hiking/biking/swimming/fishing related? Something unique/relatively unknown?
Any good restaurants in case my wife and I want to have a nice meal?

We kayak the river every other year or so. We do the long one. Lasts nearly all day. Basically just drink beer all day.

Not sure if you have kids or not, but inside Beavers Bend State Park there is a train ride, horse riding, and I think they periodically do hay rides as well. Walking up and down spillway creek is also nice.

I don't know of any nice places to eat. We went to a restaurant north of town that looked like an old train car. Wanted to order some ice cream but the kid working there said it was too hard/cold to scoop, so we went without.

It's De Queen. The town, not the dairy joint.

David Boren hiking trail is kid friendly and has a nice payoff view/picture spot about halfway through with a nice overlook of the river below.

Fly fishing is surprisingly good if you know where to go/what to use. Guides are pretty essential for a first timer.
