No. Every Cajun recipe starts with, First, you cut up an onion.

Boil the heads and shells to make a stock.
Add leftover corn cut off the cob and let simmer while you clean up from post boil festivities.
Next day - make roux.
Cook onion, bell pepper, and a little bit of garlic until soft.
Add stock (with corn), let simmer for about 20 minutes. Add the leftover tails and remove heat.
Serve over rice or with French bread.
