Alright ,let me preface this as im very straight edge now and have been since the late 90s.

So my last trip to padre for spring break ( 1991) my buddy and I didn't have a place to stay as we went on a whim. I did, however, have 400 hits of grade a MDMA capsules. We got down there and my buddy( ladies man) met some girls (4) pretty quickly and told them we didnt have a place to stay but I had something better than money. They didn't hesitate to let us stay the entire week with them ( key incuded)and it only cost me twelve hits. I was obviously into the rave scene back in Dallas and that worked out great as a rave promoter spotted me pretty quickly because of how i looked with the outfit i was wearing and payed me to get people to come to his rave. Aside from what I saved for myself , my buddy and a few special people, I sold somewhere around 350 capsules at the rave and other places during the week.

The debauchery was absolutely amazing and I came home with over 8000 in cash and banged 2 of the 4 girls we stayed with. It was the last time I went down there but I clearly went out with the greatest last hurrah I possibly could. I think it would be impossible to even try that today with all the undercover cops that converge on all spring break places.

Bayle Bucceri seems like a nice girl.

I was there that year too. Vanilla Ice concert, Foam parties, side trips to Matamoras, good times had by all.

Damn.

I came out ahead once. Well, sorta. Back in high school, had to have been '85, we were in Port A for SB. Woke up one morning, walked down to the beach, found a bag (quarter) of weed. I didn't smoke, so gave it away.

Other random high school/college SB stories...one night a couple of us went to Snoopy's and fished on the pier. Caught a couple keeper trout and took them back to the condo and put them in fridge (yes, whole). They ended up in one of our buddy's bed and as he hit the sack with a gal he discovered them and was pissed. Threw one against the wall, grabbed all his crap and stormed out at 1 a.m. to drive back to SA.

The next morning, there was the equivalent of a Japanese fish print on the wall, made from slime as opposed to paint.

Another time we thought we were rock stars while at Galveston. We were staying in a place across the street from the beach and it had a pool. We got wise and sat on one of the rock groin jetties one night with a box of frozen TV shrimp and proceeded to fill a bucket half full of random 4-5" silver fish which we called croakers but in realty they weren't. When it was nice and late and the beer was flowing the fish ended up in the pool. We were pretty proud of ourselves the next day, looking out to see a pool of dead fish.

Ah, to be young again. Fortunately my two kids, both teenagers, don't pull the same stupid shiat their dad did. Supposedly it skips a generation sometimes.

One of roommates at A&M had a family lot on the coast in Sargent, Tx, close to Matagorda

We decided we (15 of us) wanted a fishing/beer drinking week and so we went there. All they had was a lot, no buildings, running water or electricity.

Stayed out there for six days. The one guy who who's family owned the place brought a bass boat. We took that into the bay and the thing died. Almost had to swim back, bad day.

The next day, a storm came in that made us think the world was ending. Rode that out in a tent and got drunk as hell.

Caught a bunch of fish but was glad when that week ended. Saw some girls as we made our way up the beach and after they got close to us they wanted nothing to do with us.

I was also in Matamoros the night Mark Kilroy was abducted. I traveled from CStat to SPI in the back of my dorm mate's pickup. 21 of us split expenses on an $1,100 room for the week. I actually took my dorm mattress from Aston (4th South!) The mattress came in handy after one long night in Matamoros. I pushed two chaise pool loungers together and slept with the mattress on top.... With a Southwest Bobcat named Tiffany... Lather, beach rinse, repeat the entire week. My only sole souvenir from the trip was a stuffed armadillo I bought at the market in Matamoros.... My final day at Aston one of my floor mates thought it would be funny to hang my armadillo out the window by a noose.... Only to later plummet to his death in an explosion of sawdust...
My children replaced that armadillo several years ago as a gift to me at Christmas. It now resides near my fireplace as a reminder of my days as a fighting Texas Aggie student.

PS If I ever find out my children spend spring break at SPI and travel to Matamoros... I'll whoop their asses lol

We went down there 1999 and 2000. We were on the beach by the big stage drinking and whatnot. We started throwing the football, that evolved into pass coverage and routes. On a stop and go route the pass was led just a little too far and my buddy was just drunk enough to try too hard to catch it. Giving it his all, he was running flat out looking back over his shoulder, dude just flattens this young girl. Laid her the F out. She was tough though. She got up and was too embarrassed by the whole thing to stick around and hauled ass.

From what I understand they are very serious about warning the kids to stay put of Mexico and have for years.

Your buddy should have run a comeback route. Because point being, and I've said this for years, that the hardest route to defend is a come-back when the CB's back is turned. Almost every CB will have his back turned at some point when you are running a vertical route in man coverage. When the receiver stops and comes back, he will almost ALWAYS have a huge advantage on the defender. It's time we start using this a bit more.

I was there then too! Carried a case of Coronitas across the border one year, well past midnight. Walked right past the boarder patrol office. I doubt that would fly these days.

early 80's SPI was fun. Trash was at a minimum in front of the big towers on the beach.

I vividly remember sitting in the big hot tub at the Bahia Mar and Ben Davidson steps it the hot tub and starts handing us all free Lite Beer - it was the peak of the "Tastes Great, Less Filing Campaign"

Louie's at night or Blanca White's. Met some fun girls from Austin. Ended up road tripping a lot to Austin the next semester to continue the party. good times.
