Not sure where else to post this, but I thought Outdoors board would be a good place to start.

Anyone bought boots from Tecovas? I am thinking about grabbing a pair of Caiman belly, but would like to hear if anyone has actually done the "mail order" boot purchase . If you have a pair of Tecovas, what are your thoughts?

I have Tecovas Caiman roper in black and in pecan. Very comfortable for office wear. Look good in a suit or dress pants. Great price for what you get.

That's exactly it; they advertise constantly and everywhere digitally it seems. It's surprising they stay in busy with as much as they must spend on marketing.

I have a pair of the suede ropers and a pair of the ostrich cowboy boots. They are super comfortable and I get tons of compliments. Can't beat 'em for the money imo.

I have two pair of them for office wear (pecan lizard and midnight lizard) for about a year and they've held up well. Very comfortable. I don't normally buy wide boots but had to do so with Tecovas as they were difficult to remove. Return process was very easy.

I think they must have come into some private equity investment. Since December you can't turn on the tv without seeing them. That said, I gifted some to my son in law last year. He seems happy with them.

Have a pair of black lizard for office wear that have held up well all things considered. As said, they fit smaller than most.

Have the medium brown ostrich ropers. They have held up very well so far. I wear them nearly every day to the office with slacks. Very comfortable too.

I got a pair of Calfskin ropers that I've worn every day since Christmas. For the price they are pretty great.

Obviously not as comfy as my customs but still very comfortable

Thanks all.

Apologies for not first using the search function. I have 3 pairs of Luchessees (one custom and the others off the shelf) and Tecovas is a great option if they are quality.

I think I will pull the trigger on the chocolate caiman ropers. Will provide a SITREP.

I got a pair that didn't fit quite right, so I was going to have to exchange them. I just returned them and went and picked out some Anderson Beans. Anderson bean/Rios of Mercedes are my favorite boots.

I thought the tecovas leather looked fake, almost a plastic look

I have the suede ropers and I'm incredibly pleased with them. Worn at least 2x a week to work or church.

Nothing for me to complain about.

I saw an ad today that the founders of the Artic coolers line had started a direct to consumer boot company. Looked like the same concept. I don't recall the name.

Find something that is working and copy it. It's the RTIC way....

In case you were wondering, pretty sure the boot company is Cuero. Saw it on Facebook today.

The guy who founded Tecovas was a TExan w a Harvard degree and a NY private equity background so raising money has never been an issue for them.

I have a real hard time ordering any footwear, especially anything remotely expensive, online. I just have to get my feet in them and get a feel. I also have wide feet, so not all footwear fit me well.
