Has any gone hunting with/heard anything about Diamond Outfitters out of Arizona? Me and my brother hit up the Dallas Safari Club this weekend and it looks like they are offering some pretty good deals (with decent opportunities) for elk. I have been looking around but haven't seen many reviews on them outside of those on their website.

We are currently deciding between Diamond Outfitters (Arizona) and Hidden Creek Outfitters out of Cody, Wyoming.

TIA

I've been into one of hidden creeks camps 3 times before they purchased it(before last hunting season). Email me username at hotmail.com for some information about it before you decide to book.

Good deals, decent opportunities, and openings for this coming season don't jive in the world of elk outfitters.

Can explain more if interested. Just tread with caution.

Exactly what has me feeling a little leery... Their website states better than 100% opportunities which means they aren't good at math or are trying too hard to sell it.
Regardless of the product I get really nervous when it seems too good to be true.

We would need to draw tags in order to hunt with them but it seems like it isn't crazy hard to get them (according to their rep).

"Better than 100% opportunity" is pretty simple.

1. You have 1 bull elk tag
2. During the hunt you see 3 legal bulls within rifle range

That's 300% opportunity. We all know success rate and opportunity are not the same.

Ahh... That makes sense.

Hope you don't want to hunt soon in Arizona for elk if you have to draw.

We are going elk hunting this year for sure... If we don't get drawn with any of the outfitters we plan on doing a DIY hunt in Colorado with OTC tags.

Our plan with most of the outfitters is to set up a plan for 2020 and beyond.

I am a big supporter of gohunt.com. Use it to figure where to get drawn.

This is a reason I use epic outdoors. These guys know more about different outfitters and units success rate than anyone I know.

Just started looking into this. Would you recommend the 'insider' subscription? Doesn't seem like a ton (split 3 ways) but don't want to spend money unnecessarily.

If you plan on trying to get a draw some where for a DIY hunt then yes. The insider is sweet. You can filter all sorts of information to find a unit that fits your wants and need. It is a humbling experience seeing how long it will take you to draw some of these primo units. I think if you use code randy you get a 50$ credit to the pro shop. If you are using an Outfitters they may have this information for you.
You can filter minimum draw odds, harvest success, % of public land, trophy potential, seasons (archery muzzleloader, rifle, OTC). Then each unit has terrain over view, unit map, lodging info, unit snapshot, precipitation records, temperature records, moon phases, and snapshots of what to expect for each season. Then at the bottom it has a message thread for people to discuss the unit.
