14 month old male squats when he pees. Stream splashes on his front legs and he smells like pee. His hair is too thick to bathe daily. Any advice?

If he has not been around other male dogs, have him spend some time around them. Long time ago, i had a male who did this, and after a few days around other boys, he learned to hike his leg and piss like a real dog.

I don't know about "real" dogs or not, but my 80lb dog managed to piss with his leg hiked or squatted and not piss on his front legs. But I know grown ass men that can't manage to piss in a urinal 6" in front of their dick without pissing on their own shoes so...

My 7 month old pup does this...gonna have to get him some male friends soon. With him being snipped recently, I don't want to hear the question, "what pronoun do they prefer?".

This - my schnauzer taught my sister's lab to lift his leg.

Also, you can take him outside and pee on the wall yourself - not kidding - he'll want to pee on the wall himself and figure it out.

Our yellow lab squats, but due to his excellent breeding and urbane manner, he manages to avoid his front legs. I would rather he pee on the grass than on walls and stuff.

They have dry-bath wipes you could use on his legs in the meantime.

Other than the Velvet cake one of them ate the other night. I thought my wife was going to shoot them both to make sure she got the right one.

Ditto what Frog said. Our lab pup manages to not get it on himself and he pees more than any other dog I've had. We wanted him to NOT lift.

My wife hijacked me into a doodle! Always been a Border Collie or Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) owner.

The good:

Her temperament is second to none, extremely laid back, rarely barks, great retriever, never ever growls or gets mad. If I were single, hanging out with her would be a major panty puller. Backstory: took her to magnolia farms/silos or whatever it's called, my wife got pissed and took her away from me due to the sheer number of girls and women that stopped to say hello to the both of us, yeah we both loved the attention.

The bad:

She stinks around her muzzle from sticking her whole snout in the water, and then drips the water around the house. Shes had 4 god awful UTI's and so now shes on Prion for her bladder.

Shes a sock thief, underwear and panty thief.

Not a quick learner like the other two, which I am surprised with the mix of Poodle and Golden Retriever. Not a pleaser like the Border or the Sheltie, as those two would run through traffic for a frisbee or ball.

My suggestion is we/vet suggested trimming her fur around her vag or in your case pecker. We use wet wipes or warm wash cloth to routinely clean around her vag and muzzle.

Chances are would not buy again But then again wife has 1/2 the money and 100% of the vag.

funny my 100 pound Black Russian squats about half the time, and i prefer it. in my last house, he systematically killed my hedgerows one by one by peeing on the end bush until it was so dead i had to pull it. then, he would move on to the next one. my house now doesn't have any backyard bushes, so i'm often checking to make sure he ain't pissin on the side of my house.

I can tell you this, the next dog I get will not shed. I ****ing hate dog hair.

agreed. between our BRT (which aren't supposed to shed) and our French Pointer, we have black and white hair effing everywhere. think our next dog will be a wirehaired griffon. my buddy has one and it doesn't shed.

This is why we are about 2 weeks out from getting our F1B Sheepadoodle. After having a lab/chow mix and lab/golden mix for 15 years we are tired of hair everywhere.

We have a medium goldendoodle (40lb) and a medium plus (75lb) aussidoodle. both are between 2-3 years old.

GD will do a deep squat, a half squat, and a leg hike pee depending on his mood. I have no idea why the different positions. the squat pees sometimes will get on his front leg or his belly. I just brush out the mats and for what ever reason he doesn't stink. They get a good bath and cut about every 5-6 weeks.

The AD does 4 legs on the ground, full upright pee with a forward lean. Much like me at the urinal. he never gets it on him. This guy always stinks and is a dirt/mud magnet.

We had issues with the water dripping all over the house until we found these bowls called slobber stoppers. They made a big difference.

You could also look into a paw plunger if the pee is closer to their foot than above the elbow.

The 13 year old male mini schnauzer never grew out of it. Still pees like a *****.

They might make this in a larger size...

Seriously, just put a can of these right by the back door and do his legs a couple times a day until he gets his act together.
