I was browsing yesterday and found this Cabela's bargain cave item. https://www.cabelas.com/product/bargain-cave/optics/riflescopes-red-dot/pc/105591780/c/105675480/sc/105678180/cabelas-instinct-hd-riflescope/2347384.uts?slotId=3

Half price on an $800 scope that appears to be made by Meopta.

Screaming deal, or perform more like a $400 product?

I have no experience with Cabelas glass- but the old adage "you get what you pay for" would likely apply. Looks like a good deal.

I will say, I have had extremely good luck with Cabelas branded items. I own several things from their Instinct line, and have always been very happy. (At least beforee the merger with Bass Pro) you would get a 100% satisfaction guarantee with anything Cabelas branded. I bought a pair of instinct BOA laced boots to use in the mountains. Tried them on and they felt great. I broke them in a little bit wearing them around a couple times- but basically they sat in my closet for 10 months. I took them to the mountains on a hunt, and immediately (in the quiet of the woods) discovered that they had a very audible creaking noise from the BOA laces. Otherwise, they were great. I used them on that trip, put about 40 miles on them. Called Cabelas when I got back (mostly to ask if I could quiet them down somehow). I was almost immediacy offered a Cabelas gift card equivalent for the purchase price, and I didn't have to send the boots back (since they no longer sold that model). Win-win for me.

Check the return policies now, I'm sure they are different and probably unique for the Bargain Cave. But might be a low-risk gamble to try it. Worst case, you wind up with a couple hundred in Cabelas bucks.

I am a fan of meopta products. Great clarity in mild conditions. If i hadnt just gotten a new scope before christmas, I would likely get me one of these

My Cabela's 8x32 binos way outperform my Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 scope. If a Cabela's scope is anything like the binos then I might have to give this scope a try.

That 3x9 scope in your link that's $299 is my favorite 3x9 scope that I own. With that said, I paid $250 and used Cabela's gift cards purchased at ~80% of face, so I only paid ~$200 for it.
