Shot a whitetail in Jasper County this weekend that had a double white patch on his throat. I have shot quite a few deer and this is the first I have noticed with two patches. Has anyone seen or shot on with two patches? I doubt it is rare but I am just curious.

Also for those who hunt East Texas, how old do you think this deer is? My guess is 5.5 but this is my first year to hunt East Texas. Here is a better shot to show his body.

I've never shot one, but have seen them. I like unique characteristics, so I like the look. Nice buck!

We have quite a few with a double patch, my brother has killed a few bucks with it so far ive only takn does with the double patch.

I've seen a few in San Saba county. I posted a few pics of one or two of them here a few years ago. One OB poster even came to the ranch to hunt for one of them specifically. He didn't get it but he got a couple really nice bucks.

They are pretty common. Atleast on the place we hunt in South Texas. Just took a pic of this deer a few weeks back. Nice buck by the way! Congrats!

Hunt story?

Shot and missed him on opening weekend of bow season. Hunted 20 or so times between then and Saturday without seeing him again. Was about to hang it up for the season but figured I'd give it one last sitting. He came out broadside at 60 yards and made it easy on me. It was the first deer taken on my family's property near Sam Rayburn so it was somewhat sentimental.

I'm on the over side of 5 1/2 on that deer. Nice buck.

Good Lord that deer is fat!!!

My son killed one back when he was 13 or so. We were easing up a Jeep trail in heavy woods along a slough. He was in the lead. He stopped and started motioning "big buck" (use your imagination). I motioned for him to shoot. I never saw the deer till we walked up on him. Dropped him where he stood.
