is that for permanently welded shelves?

Also is there a rule of thumb for how high to place the bottom rack in the main cooking chamber to the reverse flow blocker panels, or to the bottom of the pit tube?
No you can use the angle iron to make a slide for the racks to move on if you want sliding racks. If you have a solid reverse flow plate, you can have the rack about 6" above the plate. If you are using moveable baffle plates, I cant help you, I never use those.
If you need photos, search my page Profab custom fabrication on Face book. There are a lot of photos, that can give you ideas.

That is what I was looking for. Do you have any way for smoke to make it into the box if you did want to hang stuff?
You can make a sliding gate between the warmer and the main chamber, with the addition of a 2nd stack on the warmer, you can regulate the heat. I do it all the time.

6" rack to tuning plate spacing was what I found. Typical recommendation was a little less for reverse flow, but I'm not sure it matters.

Sounds like your on the right track. The main chamber idea sounds good and you could adjust your plates depending on how the tempature ends up working out.

Did I miss the link somewhere, or whats the page?

Thanks for all the tips. The removable ones I was talking about were the tune-able reverse flow plates.

There was no link, didn't want to upset the mods. Search "Profab custom fabrication" on Face Book, and it will bring you to my page with the photos. You can also message me there.

Where are you located? My brother just bought some land and found a 500 gallon propane tank and wants it turned into a pit. He's in Cleburne. If you're not within a couple hours do you have any recommendations on folks that could build a good pit out of this? My issue is there aren't any plans that I can find online and I don't want to take it to any welder and say "build me a pit" because they may not know anything about bbq. Thanks.

Where did you get your 150gal tank? I want to build a pit using one that size as well.

You need to make me a firepit/grill before you start these big fancy projects!

I need to figure out an arrangement with someone who has a welder and would be willing to let me rent use of the welder, or some kind of work in trade for use of the welder. I just don't know who talk to about that.

I havent yet, been trying to get everything designed and planned out first to get the cost vs having someone else build it.

Did you build your own glass door or is it off a wood burning stove?

That's off a stove.

I'm slated to start a Moberg clone in the next month, with a couple of people ready to jump on it when it sells.

We are getting close to the end on my smoker build. Does anyone have a high temp paint they love? Also, any recommendations on seasoning it?
