Just based on the research from this thread and talking to a few buddies that have gone, it seems like $4500 is where it will start. The season, type of lodge/lodging, type of land (Public vs Private), etc. will dictate how much above that you will go.

This is just based on the outfitters I have seen in CO Orn NM... I am by no means an expert and it could be cheaper. Just doing my research for hopefully next year.

Agreed - I've done a lot of research the past couple weeks talking to various outfitters as I'm doing an elk hunt in 2019 and I would say on public land you are starting at $4500 with the sweet spot being between $5500-$6500 for 1x1 hunts. Private ranch hunts seem to start at $9k but are more common in the $12k range.

Shot an email to him & got a response within a few hours which impressed the heck out of me. Getting set up for a pack in hunt next fall (if I get my tag)

I really wanted to do a DIY trip since $$$ doesn't grow on trees, but I have zero friends who have the time+money+inclination to go on a hunt like this. I did not feel comfortable striking out alone first time in new country for an animal I've never hunted.

I did the same - Wes seemed like a great guy and I hope I draw a tag next year. From my research Compass West Outfitters also seemed like a great outfit.

Wes is good people. Hoping you guys can draw those tags- will be an awesome hunt. We need moar big elk pics!!!

My father and I will for sure be trying to draw elk, and probably chasing goats with Bull Valley in NM again next year.
