What's the best camera to mount on a compound bow? Hoping the answer is not GoPro cause I dont really have the budget for that. Any others yall would suggest?

Unless you're going to practice with it on I'd avoid adding the extra weight to your bow. I've mounted my go pro on limbs around me and got pretty good results. You can probably do the same with any camera in your budget.

Don't recommend bow mounted if you have other options. The bow shaking and you moving it on the shot make it very hard to actually see what happened which is kind of the whole point of the camera. I take my sony handycam to the tree and clip it to a limb

How do you hunt? Ground blind? Tree stand?

I film virtually everything I shoot with a bow/rifle. For tree stand I don't mess with a bow mounted sight... I use a GoPro facing me and a camcorder attached to a tree camera mount. For ground blinds, I use a tripod. They do make a pop-up blind mount for a camera.

The GoPro or action cameras mounted on a bow don't provide a lot of good video, in my opinion. The advantage is you don't have the extra movement to get your camera setup.

I use a little screw on mount from hunting made easy that screws onto the cross members of the pop up I hunt out of. Camcorder screws right on like it would with a tripod and you're good to go

Great feedback. Thanks all. I'll look into some options for clipping on to a tree. Usually are hunting out of a tree stand. Sometimes ground blind.

got one of these this year and so far its my favorite option. I use it with an old mini tripod that has the bendy legs. I just wrap it to a tree limb or prop it up in the window of my blind.

I have used the GoPro knock off brand action cameras off amazon. I set it up either on the bow or on ladder/tree/popup as needed. Works just fine for me.

is what they use on Bow Hunt or Die occasionally but the footage generally sucks as there is a ton of vibration when you release the arrow. But this appears to be the least "invasive" and most balanced camera you could put on your bow.

Honest question, not judging, genuinely curious:

Why?

I know the question isn't directed at me but I'll give you my answer.

1) to immediately assess shot placement and develop a plan to act accordingly
2) to have memories on camera I can watch or share years down the road

#1 is such a huge advantage... it removes that 30-45 minutes of anxiety to check what the blood on your arrow looks like. Don't always need it, but when you do it helps tremendously.

Makes sense. Thanks

New model is better than the older.
