Well since you guys know things maybe you can help me before I give up and take my mule into the shop...

My mule 550 wont start. When I turn the key the starter turns the motor but it doesnt crank. We have cleaned the carb and it looks in good shape now. Then we pulled the spark plug and tried cranking and noticed the plug was not sparking. So I got a new spark plug-and still no spark. then I ordered a new coil ignition assembly and still not spark. They fly wheel looks in good shape so I dont see a reason to spend $200 on a new one.

What am I missing??

Ours does that sometimes when the choke is pulled all the way out. We messed with the choke throttle. Worth a shot

Sounds like you might have a grounding issue. Check for rusty electrical connections.

So is there a clicking sound when you turn the key?

May be battery yet, tell me what happens exactly when you turn the key

we put a new battery in it. When you turn the key the starter turns and the engine rolls over but just never starts. It will spin for a while and you never get a "fire" out of it

I would remove spark plug from rubber plug, put positive lead of voltmeter inside the plug touching the metal and negative on the engine block and crank it, see if you get a reading. Do the same except using the negative terminal of battery and compare - should match up. If not it is likely a grounding issue.
