After a 3 month build time I finally got my new Ed Brown in .38 Super.

It is an amazing pistol. I did a an FTF issue with Armscor and to a lesser degree, Aguila ammo.

After chatting with Jack Hunter, my dealer, he sent the pistol back to Ed Brown. Got it back a couple of days ago.

Tested it yesterday evening and it ran everything perfectly.

I never had an FTF with the Fiocchi ammo so Jacks getting more of that for me.




Below is a gratuitous pic of the new pistol with its .45 cousins.

The .45s are going back to Brown to have ambidextrous tactical safeties install so all the pistols will match.

I have a .45 full size Kobra. It's my favorite pistol. I think my next purchase will be a Brown in 9mm.

I agree. Too many people are convinced 1911s are only good as .45s. I think they're even better in .38 Super or 9mm.

Dang, very nice collection! Love the consistency within your stable.

.38 Super is an amazing cartridge that doesn't get nearly enough love. Capacity of a 9mm, energy of the .45 or better. Look up Georgia Arms for their bonded Unicore ammo that send a Speer 124 gr. 1350fps.

Just a shade over $.50 a round makes it carry ammo that you can afford to practice with for proficiency.

Whoa, just went to the EB website and what's with the options? I've got a full size SF and Exec Carry, but, back when I bought them you bought the gun they wanted to make for you..........

Seriously though, that was part of the appeal. I wonder what changed with their business model. Did they get bought out?

Mine was around 2.5 years... (ordered early June 2015 received late 2017), but well worth the wait. The craftsmanship is amazing. I highly recommended the holster if you can afford to wait.

They've dropped some stuff they were doing outside the core 1911 business and expanded the 1911 options.

Stolen in a break in back Dec '16 along with my AR. Had them in a bag next to the door because I was leaving on a hunt the next morning. Good thing my shotguns were still in the safe...
