been wondering about him myself this last week, but didn't want to give him any clicks on his website
Man, he made it way further than any of us gave him credit for. He might still be a tool, but at this point, if he hasn't died, he might actually make it.
I haven't seen him do any "off roading" beyond what my Celica could handle.
I've seen half dead corollas and 20 passenger mini buses here in Cameroon take on tougher roads than that guy has taken his jeep on.

That said, i'd be driving that rig like ms. daisy in the back.

Why is he zigzagging all over the damn place - isn't the idea supposed to be take a direct route & avoid copious border entry/exits?
I would guess he's #1 trying to find decent roads, #2 trying to see as many sights as possible.JSKolache said:

I think now that he's traversed Western Africa, the trip through Eastern Africa should be much easier. At least in my mind its a much safer place with a better road system..albeit some places will still be difficult. I sure wish he was doing safari stuff while in East Africa. It would be much more interesting to see his daily kills.

A few weeks ago we stopped at the Mini-Mart for something and I saw a muzungu guy in shorts with white leather loafers talking on a cell phone. As we drove through the gas station we saw a white woman standing next to a pretty tricked out Land Cruiser with a HELP look on her face. We stopped to talk to her and learned they were German and had been taking what sounded like a similar route for about a year and a half. They'd just pulled into Lundazi and were looking for a clean guesthouse (not the Lundazi castle). We had company or we probably would have invited them to stay with us but we were able to point them in the right direction.

Doesn't matter how bad your relationship is, you don't ditch a white woman alone in an African third world country unless you think she might actually kill you. That's a pretty ****ty thing to do and could get her killed, raped, kidnapped, etc.
You know if she is crazy or not in her right mind she could probably arrange for an attack or accident to happen to him with the locals if she was vengeful.

After reading post, along with those horrendous hash tags, and perusing her IG account, I respect the guy for kicking her annoying hipster ass to the curb (or dirt, or whatever the hell Africa has)
