What are some good recommendations for a popup hunting blind? Thinking of the little "tent" structures.

Probably big enough for 2 people.

I had one for a couple weeks. The North Texas wind blew it into a barbwire fence. Suffice to say it didn't make a recovery. But it worked great while I had it. I would make sure you buy some aftermarket spikes if you want to keep it up semi-long term. As mine was much too heavy to pack it in and out for every hunt.

My first thought was to get one to setup and leave it for a couple of months. BUT, I'm concerned that some cows would come along and tear it up...although it is camo so maybe they wouldn't see it.

I tend to hunt with my two boys the most now-a-days. We had a Cabelas brand 2 person but traded it for a new 3 person. It's perfect for 3 hunters, backpacks and folding "dove" stools. Plenty of room for them to goof off without banging into the walls etc. I get some beefier stakes.

Word of advise: if you happen to snap one of the graphite rods, you can call customer service and pay $20 plus shipping to get a replacement rod sent to you, or you can go to Tractor Supply and get a $1.49 electric fence post It's exactly the same!

I set it up and leave it out. Put down a piece of carpet to muffle your movement. I also sprinkle 7 dust around it when I first set it up to keep a lot of bugs out of it. Take a stick or pvc pipe and use it like a tent pole in the middle to keep it propped up in case a storm hits and move it out of your way when you are using it. Love hunting pigs in mine

Primos Double Bull Double Wide

I have an Ameristep. It's fine for what it is. I can't easily get a legit blind to the location where I hunt, so the pop-up has been nice. It's 3+ years old and still works just fine.

I hunt on about 700 acres of hill country land with a herd of cattle. The cows like to play kickball with it when I'm not around, so I've learned my lesson: I lug it in really, really early and get it set up. Sleep until feeder goes off. Hunt. Leave. Return in afternoon. Sleep. Wake when feeder goes off. Hunt. Take it down. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

It's too heavy to carry long distances. It'll also blow away in a good wind so you need an aftermarket means of anchoring it. I put mine in the same location every time, so I built a platform with eye bolt anchors on which I tethered all four corners with clips each time I went out.

If you have cows out DO NOT leave your pop-up. They will destroy/digest most of it. I literally had a pile of support poles left out of mine two years ago. Then again, they ate most of my flagging tape as well (watched it happen). Maybe our rancher just over-grazes.

I second the Primos. For the money it's the best one I've used. Whatever you buy, spend the money and get the canvas material. The cheaper ones will fade and rip easily.

I bought my first one from one of the guys that created Double Bull, long before Primos bought them out. I have had dozens. Primos are one of the best I've used, but still a far inferior product to the original.

Cows will destroy them. That is how I lost my original. Bigger is better. No amount of tie downs will protect it from a hard wind. The poles will snap just above the hubs. Put it in an area where it is protected from direct winds.

I use a 3 person which will fit an adult and kid comfortably for bow hunting. I stake them down late September and pick up in January. Central Texas. Concealment is great for a 5 year old who can't sit still.
I usually put out a little rat poison at the same time because the mice were chewing everything- zippers, skirt, cords. Seems to make a difference. As a result, we carry our own tripod seats to the stand with us each hunt

Cabelas XL is a very good blind. Plenty of room for 3, even though I use it just for myself. Gives plenty of room to hunt with space for a tripod and camera.
Also with cabelas, if with normal use, it tears or something malfunctions, they will replace it, NC.

The best there is. Hands down. You pay a little more upfront but the design and material quality will last many years longer than the throw away pop ups that others have shown above. Also, the metal frame allows it to be secured to the ground or a platform to keep it in place.

If you want to move it...just fold it up and take it to the newest hot spot. Read the reviews and see how much novice and experienced hunters have enjoyed it.

Had them up during turkey season and a rattlesnake made himself right at home inside. Fortunately it was an afternoon hunt and could see the snake. It would have been exciting on an early morning hunt.

I have had several pop-up blinds over the last 20 years and the "down and out blinds" are the best I have owned. I have bow hunted and gun hunted out of mine on the ground as well as using it on an elevated stand.
