I'm not sure i know what an asp looks like.

Can't link correctly on mobile but type in "asp caterpillar" into google images. It's really a moth though not a caterpillar.

Just by looks alone, doesn't look menacing like a wasp or scorpion.

But from what I've read here and around the internet, it's a nightmare to come into contact with.

I was only about three at the time so I don't remember much but I do remember pain.. I was rolling around under my grandmother's oak tree and rolled over one with my head. According to my parents, I jumped up screaming bloody murder and did not stop crying for three hours. They did not know what happened, thought I hit a rock, until they saw it in the grass. Took me to the doctor and he discovered the spot where I contacted with it. I did not want to go outside for several weeks after that, according to my parents.

Asp are nasty creatures.

Only the females have stingers, and supposedly they dont like to sting, and it doesnt hurt much.

Asps are the scurge of man. No other sting hurts that bad.
