That video is an ATN NV scope. Looks like a little bit better torch than what they give you. They just came out with a gen III model that's pretty slick for the price point

I'm generally not too far whenever i shoot hog so i like using a Henry lever action in 357 with open sights.

And if i want to get stupid and feel like chuck Conners inn the rifleman when there's a group of them, i can.

ATN X-Sight II... IMO it can't be beat for the price point. The serious optics guys would just assume throw it on the ground and piss on it, but for $500, it makes a great hog hunting scope. The thing is a day and night time 5x20 scope, has WiFi, GPS, an app for smartphones, 64GB smart card, and captures video and pictures. The newer ones have recoil activated pictures

Walking around type of hunting? AR-15

Sitting in a blind or similar? M1A (.308) or R-700 (30-06)

I'm pretty similar to Giddings on this.

Remington .270 Win with a Nikon Monarch when I'm hunting in the hill country due to chance for exotics. I run Federal 150 gr Power Point Super X. Box for under $20 and everything drops when I hit it.

I've used my daughters Savage .243 with a Nikon Prostaff a few times when solely hog hunting in East Texas and again...everything drops. The thing is as accurate of a rifle as I've ever shot.

For mass quantity of hogs I like my AR-15. For effect, I prefer my 45-70 with 300gr hollow points.

30'06 has never let me down. But it's probably too old school for some.

I sure hope to use my 444 Marlin NEF on a hog someday....but the high likelihood of spotting a group versus a solo boar has an AR as the typical choice.

Ruger .40 Carbine. Shoots like mini 14 and can get off 10 shots at minimum. Best part is they most often run off and die on neighbors land! Don't have to worry about messing with carcasses. lol

Without a doubt my Ruger Deerfield Carbine in .44 mag.

Which ever gun is closest to grab and point, but more fun if light recoil and rapid fire. I use an old M1 30 carbine

I can't believe no one mentioned my favorite round and hog gun, ...AK47 in 762x39. It's dropped allot of meat. 2nd favorite is 600 nitro express cuz if I miss the hog dies in its tracks from shear shock while I pick up what's left of my arm...

Its an awesome gun. I am about to lose it to my nephew though. He has shot a couple of deer with a .22 hornet and then a .223 single shot. Both were just 40 yards or so. His dad and I were sighting in the Deerfield the other day and he came strolling out of the barn and was pretty much foaming at the mouth. We let him finish off the box. It was by far the most powerful gun he has ever shot and he absolutely loved every second of it. I have promised it to him for deer season and doubt I ever get it back. He is 10.

A 44 mag out of a carbine is fantastic. And 5 shots semi auto is pure joy.

I go with a 243 or 6.5 Grendel.
