From TexAgs Sponsor, David Gardner's Jewelers:

Introducing the Tudor Black Bay GMT
For the very first time, Tudor & Rolex coordinated the release of almost identical watches. Both companies, founded by German watchmaker Hans Wilsdorf, released their own version of a GMT at Baselworld 2018. Tudor's Black Bay GMT is the first of its kind, sporting a distinctive burgundy and blue bezel and a new GMT function that establishes local time without losing sight of the time in two other time zones.

Which one do you like better?

anything that keeps time and has 2/3 fewer zeros in the price tag

Interesting question, since the only reason to buy a watch like this is tell people you have the excess capital to squander it on something like an archaic means to tell time, it seems the least illogical decision is to buy the one that people (for better or worse) associate with wealth (i.e. Rolex) and not the one most people won't recognize and if they do recognize it, they will think "huh, guess he couldn't afford the Rolex"

Long story short, no chick in uptown has ever nailed a dude because he is wearing Tudor. But both are silly

I debated long and hard between a GMT and a Submariner before I bought the Sub in 1986. I liked the more classic look of the Sub and thought it might be a more well built watch given its depth rating. I enjoyed wearing it for many years but sold it in 2014 for 4x what I paid for it (to a dealer; could have gotten more) after not wearing it for over a decade. I'd stay with a Rolex personally, but am unfamiliar with the other brand.

I'm not sure wearing a watch is an archaic means to tell time. Though I don't wear one on a daily basis I still wear one when jogging and for other outdoor activities. I still see many people wearing watches of all brands for daily wear. I don't see a Rolex owner much differently than someone who owns a luxary brand car or a house in a gated community. And I don't think many of them buy one to improve their sex life.

You honestly don't believe that dudes don't buy nice cars, watches or even houses to get laid?

Point is, today a watch is nothing but a status symbol. So you might as well maximize the status/dollar ratio.

Like both.

But since this is the Outdoors board, I have to go with the Rolex given you can pretty much go anywhere in the world and trade it for a plane ticket or whatever else you need to extract yourself from a bad situation.

I like the Rolex more than the Tudor, but I like the Submariner with the blue face better than the GMT.

Point seems to me that you never go places like the Master's or do anything adventurous when you cannot have a phone to ask what time it is and if you did, you would ask people like me what my Rolex says since you wrongly thinkt wearing a watch is nothing but a status statement.

I have always loved watches. I don't care if our eye balls have a heads up display in the future with the current time, I will still own a watch. And I never buy a watch to get laid.....wouldn't help.

I have a Tudor because I think it is beautiful.
