1) when cash is appropriate yes
2) I do use a debit card
3) pen and paper, yes to keep my math skills sharp as a calculator is not always around, and I want to be able to teach my kids fundamentals

Risk aversion/exposure prevention does not mean you live in a total bubble and not adapt to the changing world. It is simply choosing to be weary of jumping into every new technology head first, and evaluating how much exposure one is willing to risk in the world. I choose to limit my families exposure by not granting any and every company access to my accounts. Does that mean I am 100% safe, not at all. It just allows me to better control the situation and hopefully hve a better clue where a breach happens/ if it happens.
