It's kind of a long story. My late wife and I had bought a couple of teak chairs from somewhere in Maine for the beach. She got sick requiring 24 hour care for a long time and it restricted my time at the beach. Teak requires care and I thought I would make a couple and swap them out when need be. The only problem was I didn't actually know or remember what they looked like. As I said I built seven out of wood for two...gave it away. Kept tweaking. I wanted wide arms...a fan back and a comfortable tilt. I believe the first picture is the first teak chair I built. Once I got back to Port A I realized the ones I was building were a whole lot better than what we had bought.
They now have homes in Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Florida, Mississippi & Louisiana....all for just asking so beware. Wood is expensive and time is cheap but you can build a lot better than you can buy IMO. If I was going to buy something I would get Pawley's Island which is made out of Durawood.
I never had any plans but I probably built 15 or more sets. I ultimately made patterns for four or five parts. Like anything in wood working your family will come up with tweaks. All three grand daughters got a smaller version for dolls.
My mother loved the beach and she made Raggedy Ann dolls for about any girl that would give her a child hood dress. I was "directed" to make a still smaller version into a lamp for the beach to remember.
