So the crew is out for an impromptu range day. We built up an AR pistol with a binary trigger. I had an idea. Turned out better than I imagined.
Put the cmmg 22lr bolt in and holy crap that thing is fun. Since it short strokes by design, it cycled crazy fast. Most fun thing we put together to play with today.
Back at Independence we put a Slide-Fire on a M&P15-22 and it cycled a good hot 22lr a good bit faster than that. The only faster 22 I've shot was an open bolt setup that Sean Cody brought to a company range day.
Well when you get it dialed in, I would like one with 1/2x28 barrel threading. All the affordable ones I have seen have a strange thread that won't work with my suppressor.

Probably a 5/8 x 24tpi, that's usually what I've seen on pretty much anything above .25 caliber
The main thing I see happening is the binaries are a bit finicky on timing so adding a bump stock in May make the whole thing just have too many moving parts.

Yeah I don't really see those two things working well together.
We do have a bump stock on the way, thanks to a poster here. We'll get them mounted up and probably out to the range this weekend so we'll hopefully have video shortly.

Does it look like this weekend will happen? Curious on the results.
Uh... Well... We have a more exciting experiment planned for tomorrow.

Did I miss what this is on another thread? If not, you can't just say something like that and leave us hanging!
Well, I guess you can, but you shouldn't!
Lol sorry. Yeah, hadn't really announced it yet. But what we're doing is hopefully going to be pretty cool. In theory it should be good, but we have a few configurations to try it. Basically, I haven't seen this done yet in this exact setup. But we should be able

Working on it now. I'll post the range video here in a minute. Been doing some research and putting together a package with this rifle and a few parts. It's not a cheap one per se, but stupid amounts of fun. Making another video as the promo for it so think of this as the teaser, but this will show exactly what is going on with it.

Here we go. So, we took what we learned from the original video and made a dedicated 22lr with a binary. We used the Kriss Defiance as the host and had to do some tweaking to get it to run right. After that, it was off to the races! This thing is FUN as hell. I REALLY like the Defiance. Probably my favorite in production 22lr AR at the moment. Aluminum upper and lower, free float, and already set up ready to roll. Throw in the binary and some gunsmithing to get everything to play nicely together and you end up with a great toy. The Kriss only comes with a 15rd mag but, as you can see in the video, the CMMG mags do work and the bolt hold open does work with it as well. The only thing I don't like is that the CMMG mag is gray BUT I am bringing in some black ones... aaaaaaand there is a full auto rated drum that should work and will be the next part of the experiment that we're doing before we release the package.
