How long do you want to ignore this user?
I posted on Home Improvement but nothing thus far so I thought I'd come to the real knowledge base on TexAgs... I've discovered that I've got voles in the yard and I'm hoping that someone here has fought them off before cause I don't know which route to take, e.g. trapping, bait stations, etc. Any advice?

So far my best defense against them has been them falling into the pool and a local owl population snacking

Suggest they hire Greg Schiano, and then when they riot... set their tunnels on fire.

Get gopher bait at a farm supply store. It is basically wheat coated in poison. Drop it into their holes deep enough so that birds can't see or eat it.

Get a bird dog and turn it loose. Mine goes nuts over those things. She digs big holes where you can only see her tail sticking up outta the ground to catch that little suckers. Haven't had problems since

This is what I do. I have two pieces or rebar welded to a tee shape, with the bottom of the tee sharpened to a point. You work the point into the ground to find their tunnels, when you do find a tunnel, you have the perfect size hole to drop some of the poison peanuts or wheat down right into their tunnel. If you're diligent and hit them regularly, you'll make huge progress.

Most of the baits contain strychnine. I need a solution without poison because of my dogs. In years past they could get the voles under control, but this year they are losing ground..
