I got one of the best dogs I've ever owned from Flying O Ranch about 15 years ago. Located in east Texas.

I have gotten 2 dogs from Flying O. Both dogs are great hunters. My oldest male is 10 this year and has found hundreds of coveys. Mr. Orms is not training dogs anymore, but may still have litters.

Just wondering, is the dog you got 15 years ago still living?

For a pet or to bird hunt?

Will definitely be a family dog but I do a fair amount of bird hunting.

Ronnie Smith Kennels in Oklahoma, they are Brittany people. They are bird dog royalty, I imagine there's a waiting list to get a dog from them. He could at least point you in the direction of a good litter if you don't want to wait.

IMHO, if you want a dog that hunts you're gonna want to get one quite a ways from Houston. Most times the best bird dogs are wherever the most birds are.

American Brittanys and Stud Dogs on Facebook is a closed group. You should join it and look there, those will be serious dog people.

I had a Brittany growing up as a family pet, and would love to have one again as a family dog. I don't hunt birds much but would love to have a Brittany spaniel again.

BRIT Brittney rescue in Texas. We have 1 from them and have fostered and done home visits for the group. They have a range of ages.

We have 2 right now. Rollie (Ginger Rollie White) and our rescue Olivia. Love the breed.

Flying O is one I have looked at as well.

If you want a real hunting machine get a dog from Ron Holcomb. He has the best dogs that I have ever hunted behind for upland quail hunting. He runs a few different breeds but his American Brittany's were my favorite.

J&M Brittanys in Houston. This is where we got our Brittany from just under 4 years ago. We had her trained with Pete Thune at Pecan Hill, who J&M work their puppies with. Great experience with both. Our female is 98% pet and 2% bird dog, but she does great when we get her in the field a few times a year. Not sure I'll ever own another breed after having a Brittany!

I'll second Ed Orms/Flying O Ranch in Ore City. I have a 9 month old pup from him that will be headed off to training at Pecan Tree Hill this spring. She has has been great around the house and is an absolute machine when I take her to the field. I haven't hunted over her yet but she's doing great with our trips out to the field and holds down the white wings in my backyard like it's life or death.
