I have an ar-15 bushmaster and am modifying it. It has the stock 16" barrel. I'm putting a SIG Sauer taper lock SRD762TI-QD suppressor on it. 2 questions:

1). I would like the hand guard to be flush with the suppressor (no barrel showing). What size hand guard would this be? 15", 15.5"?

2). Any recommendations on hand guard? I want a modern modular design, mlok, lightweight.

What kind of budget? Cheap? Awesome? I am putting the Fortis Night rail on one of my builds, it looks badass. Jabber just put a geissele rail on one of his builds. I think Tim is running a geissele as well. All of my other ARs just use the OEM ones that we get.

No budget, just want it to look awesome

Not sure how that will sit, but the reason I went with the 9.5" mk4 rail instead of my 10" rail that was on there originally for my 10.5" build was to be able to use the AAC 51t qd system with a 762sdn6. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to make it work.

Well... look at the night rail from fortis. I'm a little biased since it's about to go on a build for me... but yeah.

So if my barrel is 16" the longest hand guard I should get would be 15"?

Eye Guy, what trigger do you recommend? My stock trigger takes way too much weight to pull, I'd like something much lighter.

I have Geissele rails on two builds, and they are NICE! Really love them. Have a Mega Rail on my (soon-to-be-finished) SR-25 build, and it's just as nice. Lots of options; look around and see what you dig the most.

Obviously not Eye Guy, but I prefer the single stage CMC Triggers (made here in Texas) to just about any. Some of the Geisele triggers are nice, but expensive and two-stage mostly. I also have a LaRue, but haven't put a lot of time in on it yet. Really love the CMC . . . you should definitely check them out.

Yes, the sister company for Geissele. Run by Bill Geissele's wife.

I have an Elftmann Tactical drop-in trigger that is about as good as it gets. You can adjust the pull from 2.5 - 4 lbs

Most common one we do is the ALG ACT... it's $70 and the best value on the market, IMO. It's our standard trigger on our armadillo rifles. I run a CMC 3.5lb flat trigger on my grendel and love it. Dropping a timney on my pistol build. Really like the Elftmanns as well.

I like my SLR 10.7" ion lite on my 11.5" SBR.



The 16" DD is going through a facelift right now. But when I put my suppressor on it with a cover, there is almost no barrel showing. Handguard is a 15" BCM KMR alpha (keymod). My next handguard will be a Geissele.

I have a diamond head VRS - T on one of mine. Looks bad ass and feels great but is very heavy.

With regards to length, here is a 15.5" handguard on a 16" barrel.

I really like the look of those SLR's
