Anyone have suggestions? Lucchese will do them but it is $250, I have to send them off and takes 10 weeks.

Have used Houston Shoe Hospital on Kirby. They did a good job and cost a little over $100 for double stitch.

Check our Parker Custom Boots. I've got a pair with him now getting resoled. He charges $125 for the whole deal.

He said his turn around is about 2 weeks. I don't have them back yet for a review.

Another for Great Western Boots. Had my Lucchese boots resoled there twice and the tony lamas 3 times and they did great work. A week turnaround time last time I went there.

Just a word of caution though.... If you have any work done on the boots by anyone else, Lucchese will no longer work on them. If that's not a problem for your then don't worry about it.

Parker made some customs for a friend of mine. He does damn good work and would imagine a resole would be easy for him.

This is crazy, the place I get mine done at in Harlingen charges like $15-20 for soles and heels.

I had read that on their website. I cannot justify paying Lucchese $250 for a resole though.

Well furk - $250? They just opened a store at the new Star facility and I wanted to check out their prices. That is absurd.

Not to derail too much, but options in N.Dallas?

In Houston, nobody does a better job than Parker. An M.L. Leddy salesman once told me that your boots are only as good as the last person to resole them; that's why I take all mine to Zephan Parker.

My son killed a gator. Had the hide tanned black. Zephan made beautiful custom boots for him. They designed and personalized the uppers. Had a coin purse made for his mom. He does a truly outstanding job. His craftsmanship is second to none.

I killed a gator this past spring. Guess where I was 2 weeks ago? Yep, designing custom boots with Zephan.

Trust those of us who recommend him.

Had new soles and heels done on some luchesses at Great Western Boots about 2 months ago and I think it was $100 or $125. But they look just as good, if not better than the day I got them.

I'll post in Classifieds also, but I've got a pair of Lucchese Classics in caiman that I'm looking to unload. Cognac (or Almond?) in color, size 9.5D. Paid about $1100 6 or 7 years ago, right before Lucchese hiked up their prices. Perfect condition, kept in the bag. Only worn about a dozen times, just didn't fit me as well as my other boots.

Looking for $500, located in Houston. Email username at yahoo for some pics.

Houston ain't Harlingen, cowboy.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

Update: Took boots to Great Western yesterday. Great guy to chat with. Said he even made custom boots but did not discuss any further.

Another option for consideration (not the OP, obviously):
