How long do you want to ignore this user?
I decided to buy a propane smoker, and here is what I have found. I am looking for a 40 inch to have the capacity and larger shelves.

Originally I found the Masterbuilt. It is around $150 at various places. Amazon Link

I then looked at slightly nicer ones and found a Smoke Hollow at double the price. Amazon Link

Is the smoke hollow twice the smoker? I like that it has 2 doors and 2 burners, but I am a novice to this.

Anyone have experience or thoughts here?

Thanks!

I have the Masterbuilt in a 2-door model purchased from Bass Pro probably 2 years ago. I did some upgrades right away: wheels/casters, door gaskets, drilled out the wood basket and replaced with a cast-iron skillet...things like that. All recommendations from previous users on the various web sites. One recommendation I would absolutely make is to put a secondary valve on the hose between the tank and the burner to help fine tune the flame. The knob on the tank didn't give me enough flame/temp control so that was my fix.

I keep this at our house in CS so don't use it a lot, but I keep it up there because when I cook for our tailgate I cook for a ton of people. This dude can churn out a ton of ribs, a ton of brisket, etc. It's never turned out a brisket as good as my best brisket on my WSM, but it cooks good meat and it's easy, consistent, and huge. Ribs have been really solid.

If you can think of anything else, just ask...

I'd buy the cheaper one. All depends on your needs. They all eventually rust/burn out equally. Also clean it after each use and buy a cover, it helps slow the rusting process. I bought a Vault from Tractor Supply a couple of years ago and like it.

Probably not much help but.....funny you should mention Smoke Hollow, I just got back from Sam's and saw them there on display, so if you are near a Sams's and want to physically look at it you can probably find it there. I went to the Sam's on 290 and West Rd. Pretty biig smoke in comparison the the Masterbuilt that was right next to it.

Edit to say the Smoke Hollow at Sams looks different than the one in your Amazon link, it also was not quite as expensive, I want to say about $250 but I could be wrong.

Most folks are recommending the Masterbuilt. Thanks for the responses. Anyone on here have any smoke hollow thoughts?
