Yeah, I was surprised. I logged in after a few days just to check and see if they had everything and it said printed, or whatever the specific status was. Then I expected it was still going to take a while to show up, but my wife called me on the following Monday and said it was in the mailbox.

How long did it take for ya'lls application status to show up on the DPS Website?

I did the initial application and fingerprinting on Dec 24th and 27th.
I submitted my class paperwork on Tuesday (1/8) afternoon after 5, but my status still shows:

LICENSE APPLICATION STATUS: If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received.

I did receive an email saying 'Documents Received', but nothing since and no update on the website.

I submitted mine back on Dec 19th and still have not received anything, the status check also shows background and fingerprints pending. My father in law just recently applied for his license and it only took one week to get his permit, and he submitted only like one week prior to mine.

Another thing, I have purchased a handgun since submitting the application and the background check just says pending.

Des the government shutdown have anything to do with this?

I wouldn't think so. This is Texas DPS, not national. Not sure what database they tie into. Maybe they verify with a national database. I would think that would be electronic at this point though...

It took about a week to show up on the website but I got it all in on the 26th and assumed that had to do with the holidays.

It shouldn't.

The federal NCIC and related databases are deemed vital government functions and remaining fully staffed. I am nit sure if that means new records are being added but they are doing checks.

Update...

Took a week to show up on the DPS website. Submitted Tues 8th, showed up Tues 15th.

Everything received, background check - under review, and printing pending background check.

Jan 8th - Everything Submitted
Jan 15th - Showed up on Portal (background check under review)
Jan 16th - Print Pending
Jan 18th - Mailed
Jan 22nd -Received

So I am going on 40days from the time I submitted the application and about 35days from when I completed my fingerprints. Has anyone else waited longer than this? My status is still showing background check & fingerprints under review.

I had everything submitted on 1/26/2019. I received an email on 1/28/2019 confirming all documents were received. No status updates on the DPS website yet.

Just got my LTC back in the mail, it took 6weeks after I completed my fingerprints. The website was on par with the status updates.

Anyone submitted theirs in the last 3 months or so? What is the time like now?

Word was it was running around a month last year at this time.

I received my LTC early March. The whole process seemed to move pretty quickly on their website. Once I received the "mailed" status, it took a little over 3 weeks to receive it. The process took close to 2 months from start to finish.

I'm at a about a month and a half now and everything on my status has finally checked off, but I've been stuck on card print pending for a week.
