Live in the Bellaire area and thinking of trying something closer to home than I have been. Anyone have good recommendations?

Bit of a drive, but I use Juniors in Highlands. They have always done a great job for me.

Greak's at Froberg's Farms in Alvin makes some good jalapeno cheese and andouille sausage. I always found they can be a little pricey, but my mom always bought their sausage when I was a kid so I find myself dropping off there every once in a while.

I have a deer at B&W right now waiting for the sausage to get smoked. They'll put 10% beef fat in your ground no extra charge.

I've used a friend of a friend that processes on the side.

If I have the time and enough sausage, I'll do my own ground, steaks, and roasts. I am slow though and need to have a cool day so I can set up on the back patio.

Never been dissapointed by any of those.

Any recommendations on the NW side of Houston, including Tomball, Brenham, College Station, Chappell Hill areas? I'm looking for good jalapeno cheese link sausage and hot pan sausage.

Slovacek is good, albeit a bit pricey. The same with bellville meat market

I've heard good things about Bellville Meat Market. Never had a deer done there, but ate lunch there a few times.

Did Slovaceks last year and was not impressed with them at all. Couldn't get anyone to answer the phone, took months to get it back, they mix your deer with others, and the sausage was very rubbery. The flavor was good but the odd fake rubber texture mixed with the other issues has me not going back.

We love the sausage from fisher ham and meat in Spring. Salt, Pepper, Garlic (SPG), Red Pepper, and Jalapeno are my favorites. Regarding ground meat they will do whatever you ask as far as blending and grind size.

I also like that the health inspector's office is in the building.

Thanks for the suggestions? Does Fisher use real jalapeno in their sausage or jalapeno powder / spice?

Bit of a hike but not too bad- Arnold Deer Processing in Hempstead. Cannot recommend highly enough. Get the hot boudin, you won't be disappointed.

I use Stanton's in Alvin. They make awesome sausage.

Real jalapeno. You can see it in the sausage.

You can swing by and pick up some sausage to try before you take them a deer. That's actually how we landed on them. What they sell is 100% pork but gives you a good idea of their quality and seasoning.

Has anyone else used Arnold's processing in Hempstead? I'm trying to decide between Arnold's and Belleville Meat Market. Fischer' in Spring looks good but they are not open until Monday for drop off which doesn't work for me.

Arnold's is awesome. Reasonable prices and their sausage and boudin is fantastic!
