how big of a rain do you need?AgEng06 said:
When the acorns are gone.
Or when you get enough rain to make the acorns sour.
on public land. worked really hard and scouted to find the right spot and had great traffic but traffic has died down (best guess is acorns) and do not want to try to move my set up.gillom said:

Like tlh said, a big rain. Enough for the acorns to be soaked/wet for a few days.blockhead said:how big of a rain do you need?AgEng06 said:

Biologically, you want them on the acorns.
It also depends on what type of oak you are dealing with. Do you know what species you are dealing with? The assorted white oaks they will knock out pretty fast. The red oaks are not as preferred, but the tannins allow them to stick around longer, and eventually they will feed on them.
They will go to the highest concentrations. I know a biologist/guide that goes by the 10 acorn rule. If you are stepping on 10 or more acorns, that is where you want to be.....assuming 11ish size foot. Adjust accordingly if you are a midget or Bigfoot.
