OB,
I am a high-school football coach and am looking for a rechargeable bluetooth speaker for us to play music on during practice. We are obviously in a very wide open space and want something that can put out some serious sound without breaking the bank. Somewhat water resistant is a plus too. Is this an unrealistic expectation?
I picked up a G-Project G-Boom for $80 and tried it out at the house last night and although it is pretty loud, I am not sure it will be loud enough for the football field. I am at least going to try it out at practice tonight with the expectation that I will most likely be returning it tomorrow. I think I saw somewhere that the G-boom puts out 103 decibels?
The internet is full of top 10 lists, but they vary in terms of how they are ranking the audio levels in terms of loudness vs quality. Very few of the lists use decibels and the other lists refer to output wattage with which I am not really familiar with.
That being said, does the OB have any economical suggestions? I realize I may need to end up buying one of the larger bose or jawbone units in the $200-$300 price range, but I just wanted to check with the OB to see if I could find something comparable at a lower price point.
TIA
