Deer stand distance from home?

My wife an I are looking to build a house on some land we purchased in Milam county. The neighbor has 2 deer stands facing towards the future build location, it's about 1100 feet from the stands to the house. The location of our home is near the power lines, and we get about 600 feet from the poles, so not much wiggle room on build location. My main concern is kids running around outside during hunting season. I'm sure they would move the stands, but wanted to see if there were any laws governing such things before asking. I always like to go into these sort of things with as much knowledge/info as possible.

No laws, just common sense/courtesy. Are they facing where they will shoot in your direction, or are they on the fence lines and will only shoot away from you?

I just spoke to the game warden for Milam county. He said just to ask him to move it, and if there is an issue, he'll speak to the neighbor. Apparently, while there isn't any specific law, if a bullet crosses my property line and hits a tree, it's trespassing by projectile, and that's illegal. Also, if it hits the house, it's considered deadly conduct. I got the game wardens mobile number, but I'm sure the neighbor will be fine with it - don't see an issue. I just didn't know the laws since I'm new to that county.

They would be shooting towards the house with only 1100 feet from stand to house.

Yeah, I'd be concerned about that. Hopefully they'll be understanding.

You should offer to help the neighbor move the stand/feeders. Start the relationship off on a good foot.

Agreed on asking them to potentially move/shift their sight-lines. I have a stand at our farm that faces back towards our own farmhouse with two (mostly) open pastures in between, but its 550 yards away and the stand is elevated so the shots are more downward in general.

Have your home construction start on opening day, he will move them.

Good suggestion about helping him move them. Also, if you aren't planning on construction starting until next year, tell him that and don't make him move them this close to start of season and while it is so blazing hot if moving them after this season accomplishes the same long term objective.

Can you see this stand from your house?
Are they ladder stands or box stands? If they are box stands they may only appear to face your property.

My stand generally faces a Home that is not much further then the distance you quote, but I don't shoot over property lines. If my neighbor told me that it still bothered him I would move it, but he was there first.
If someone built a house next door after I'd been hunting that location for decades I'd tell them no.

At 366 yards, deer won't care how much noise the Home construction makes as soon as they get used to it
