It was and the idea that it needs breaking in makes more sense. I just could not understand the hype when I actually had it in my hand

It opens as fast as an assisted knife, but closes much faster.

I don't agree with this. I went to store with the intention of buying a Benchmade a month or two two ago because I want a drop point knife and they get so much hype. I was really disappointed when I actually handled it. I felt like the axis system no different than a $15 Chinese Gerber. Guess it's all personal opinion. I ended up leaving with some shells and new sunglasses instead.

While I don't have a Benchmark with the axis lock, my EDC has a very similar locking device (SOG Access Card 2.0 with modified warncliff blade). I guarantee you I can open it faster than any assisted open knife I have ever owned or handled, and would love to see someone try to get their assisted-openi knife out and open faster. On top of that, as Juicyfan stated, you aren't going to close it as fast and safe either. Just hold back the lock and it will freely swing back and forth.

I've carried a SOG Flash II for several years. I love the spring assist opening, works great when my other hand is hiding something I need to cut. I like the fact the clip on it extends beyond the edge of the knife. When in my pocket, the only thing you see is the clip itself. The knife is completely in muy pocket. I lost my knife a few weeks back and after searching for another SA knife, I couldn't find another that had a similar clip.

I found a Gerber Paraframe on clearance at lowes that I think is pretty damn decent.

**** all the haters.

I have a shallot and leek too that I like though. Just don't want to lose them and they unclip out of my wranglers easily. Not sure why. Haven't lost them yet but I don't carry them because of the fear.

I only carry them because I sometimes need a knife with a good blade that I can work with one hand. Otherwise, I have yet to fund a knife that holds and edge like whatever the hell victorinox uses on my Swiss army camper. It's 30 years old so I guess that's actually my edc. Lol. Maybe a 300 dollar knife has better steel but I'm not willing to find out.

Gerber LST Ultralight. Weighs half an ounce, two inch blade. Costs less than $15 so in the off chance I lose it, no big deal.

Case trapper for me. I have several other Kershaws and such but alway end up back carrying the trapper. My 2 sons each have one in my safe for when they get old enough.

Spyderco Endura. I have two of these knives - one that is fully serated and have used and owned for 20 years, the other is a plain edge. Both are great knives and I would highly recommend them to anyone. I love the feel of them in the hand, they are perfectly balanced, and the lock is my favorite of any knife in that price range.
