How long do you want to ignore this user?
Recently moved back to College Station and need some routine maintenance done on my jeep. It's lifted with rubicon express lift. I don't know any of the mechanics here in town and don't want to get taken to the cleaners. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

1. lower it back down to stock.

2. sell it to me

Hit up Jason over at Addictive Autoworks. He and his wife have a shop out of Calvert and do a lot of work on Jeeps.

What does a lift have to do with routine maintenance?

That's a pretty good success rate, honestly...

Your post was incredibly vague about what you are looking to get done. Routine maintenance can mean any number of things. If you want good advice, be specific.

I do all of my routine maintenance on my Jeep. They're incredibly easy to work on and when you have a lift it's that much easier

Be sure to have them change the blinker fluid, Rubicon Express lifts are known to burn through that stuff.

unless you need dry cleaning done. Then I would go to the cleaners.

Uh-hem. My link was very helpful. Have you seen that guys Jeep? He can tell you all you need to know about maintaining Jeeps in harsh conditions.

FIDO, I was thinking the same thing. To me routine maintenance includes things like oil changes, tune ups, and brakes.

-- if this is suspension/lift related, you may want to check out BCS Tires & Lifts. They also do routine maintenance besides tires and lifts.

--- you should elaborate on what you need done. Throwing in the "lifted" descriptor makes me assume suspension issue. But "routine" could just be something simple and done just about anywhere.

Guys, I am having some pain in my body. I'm 6'4". Can anyone recommend a good specialist for my condition? Thanks.

Sorry, yes routine maintenance on the lift. I want to go through the lift and tighten up bolts, align the front end, replace u joints if needed, etc.

I apologize for my vagueness but I have realized over the years that many people on TA just look for opportunities to bust each others balls without ever providing meaningful or valuable information. Probably why I never post.

You are far more like to get a meaningful answer from texags if you a) ask a normal question with pertinent info and b) accept and roll with the sarcasm and ball busting. when you ask a question like you asked, no one can provide you an accurate answer because there wasn't enough info, ergo, ball busting commences. if you get butthurt about it, you're much less likely to ever get an answer. now that you have provided actual information to go along with your question, I am sure someone will give you a good answer.

I, for one, would like to know what year jeep you have and what size lift is on it.

also, you should cross post to the automotive board, as there is a lot of knowledge over there as well. tightening bolts and changing u-joints is pretty basic, and you can probably do it yourself and save a few hundred bucks.

Yes, because nothing says "offroad" like 26" tires with a fender riding about an inch above.

Never understood why Jeep has a low rider as their stock. Silly.

BCS Tires & Lifts can help you out. They are right next to Discount Tire on TX Ave by Target.

And yes people will give you crap but the same people will also turn around and help out too.

Before you ask somebody for an alignment...keep in mind there's not a lot they can actually align. Pretty much toe and steering center is about it (which you can do yourself if your handy). Caster if you have adjustable control arms but I doubt your lift has them. So don't let em charge you a lot for that.

As for the other stuff...if you have the time learn how to do that stuff yourself if you can it's not really hard. All the torque specs are online as well as other help.

Are you planning on taking it to Africa when it's fixed?
