Well my big goofy black lab managed to pick up fleas. Couple more days until his sentinel is delivered so I am trying to kill the *******s using shampoo. Given him two baths in the past 4 days using shampoo that contains permethrin and peperonyl butoxide, .1% and .5% concentration respectively. Found another flea on him tonight, am I going to cause damage if I give him another bath? Last one was yesterday. Thanks in advance.

I would recommend Capstar. It is a single pill you give the dog and it kills all fleas on them. We had great success using it on our two labs in combination with Frontline.

Gave him one last Wednesday or so. They've persisted. Probably going to buy some more tomorrow once the vet opens but trying to give him a little relief in the meantime

Just use Johnson Baby Shampoo.
Cheaper and smells better!
Been using it for years.
Vet buddy turned me on to it.

Fresh & Clean flea & tick shampoo is the best i've ever used.

Head and Shoulders or similar.

Shampoos will only kill the fleas on your dog at that time, any new ones that jump on will not be effected. While Sentinel is my preferred preventative, it doesn't kill adults, so you may see fleas for a couple months on it alone (although the cycle should be a little faster with the current weather). You could use Capstar every other day or use Bravecto/Simparica/Nexgard with the Sentinel.
