Calls to HCFCD of people climbing into their attics. Flooding in SE Harris County is equal to or greater than TS Allison #houwx

Going into the attic just seems like a terrible option

I guess if you don't own a ladder to get on the roof there are really no good options.

Over 1,000 water rescues so far in Houston and 100s more ongoing.

Live on CNN, people just walked out of their neighborhood shoulder high water, they called every hotline, nobody answered. Said nobody else in their neighborhood had left. High water rescue vehicles can't pass points on I45.

Man and son just walked out to reporter in same spot said it was neck deep, said he hoped to get a rescue crew to come back to his house for wife and kids and the truck just passed him by. Walking back thru the water to his house now. I've never seen that before.

Lots of flooding in Friendswood last night, but waters have receded in many areas right now. I'm just across the Pearland line couldn't have gotten out last night, but water is back down to the curb in Briarglen now.

My wife is here, 31 weeks pregnant, with twins. Let me know if she needs help. Username @ Gmail

Just heard from them. So far so good, but things are obviously deteriorating. I'm trying t get on a plane today.

Not meaning to be insensitive, but can't they get help from Texags, friends or neighbors?

Things could go from bad to catastrophic in the time it would take you to return to the US. Heck, it could be bad in 30 minutes the way things are going.

I believe Houston Hobby is closed per my tv news just as an fyi; if you are having difficulty getting back, please do not hesitate to have your family seek assistance.

Edit--GB Still open as of now.

Harris county guy said to call 211 for water/flooding emergency not 911. Third coast, maybe your wife should call before it gets worse. It's too late for her to drive but buses are ready to take folks to shelters in Bell County. These are not Red Cross. They are local churches that organize with the counties.

Looks like it's going to stay put most of this week just wobbling around like a drunk toddler dumping tons of rain. Then may move Northeast or may move West towards Big Bend.

NHC still has it looping back down and around through Houston and up through East Texas.

I think I can make it back relatively easy by taking 35 to SA and 37 to Corpus area. Not sure from there.

Gonna be an interesting drive.

Might be better for it to travel at Houston, Bc Houston is on that dirty side getting hammered. If it goes through Houston it might send the rain to Louisiana.

I'm in katy and we got a very nice break for a few hour yesterday. And now the drainage in my area seems to be working decently. Prayers to those in SE Houston.

Are we hoping for it to move off east so that way more folks could be on the dry side of it?

It needs to push inland so it loses moisture and dies

I think everyone would be happy with a cold front pushing through and obliterating Harvey.
