Thank you for updating. It was around 7+" earlier this morning. I have a friend that has family there that's refused to leave.

I think when I last checked Brays Bayou on the website it was at about 38 feet. Flood stages begin at like 40 feet iirc. Ill have to check out the level again later but, yeah I expected the bayous to fill up.

The Rice boys are playing a football game against freaking Stanford right now. Getting killed. Talk about distracting.

A ridiculously simple explanation is like an engine.
Harvey's fuel is heat and moisture.
It has that.
What it lacks is a steering mechanism.
Atmospheric conditions brought it here, but nothing is pulling, pushing in any direction for a few days.
Harvey has plenty of fuel, and no particular place to go.

Apparently this is happening in parts of Houston (south side).

KHOU reported rainfall amounts of around 13" in the last three hours in the Clear Lake area.

This may or may not live up to some early rain models, but generally speaking was forecast several days ago.
Folks that cannot afford to bug out, i can kinda almost understand.
Folks that disregard advice, and have means...
That seems a lot like willful ignorance.

I'm on top of a hill, it would take 1,000,000 year flood event to affect me. I have that luxury.
Were I in a flood prone area?

Last update I saw around 12:30 was lower Bastrop county, Caldwell area could see 45 even 60 inches.

They were at 30 in that update.
