I'm starting to wonder if this may be the most underreported part of the storm. I know we're 4 days out from the end, but media loves negative and glosses over positive.
However, if Texas takes on a cat 4 storm with record flooding over a massive area and sees minimal casualties..... Then all emergency crews, county & state officials + the good will of the public to be safe is a story worth telling.
Im sure it's state pride talking, but I always like to think texas can handle natural disasters better than most, and I hope that shines through with Harvey
Weird that we aren't seeing any images of Port A. I guess most did heed the warnings and evacuate.
They can't get there. Crews on the way to clear debris on the bridge so people can get in.

I am watching the severe weather channel which goes to a bunch of live news coverages. They had the CC news crew on and they had the Port A mayor on the air. He said pioneer trailer park is 100% loss, marina is heavily damaged, 8 dead in the Rockport area.

That's hard to watch. We've gone to the Boiling Pot the last 4 yrs while on vacation at north padre.
Where are the deaths at?
Port A is gonna be the worst, as all the others were behind the barrier island and miles of shallow bay.

111 and 105 Henderson st. Right near the Fulton mansion. Definitely don't let them get out in a dangerous situation. But would be interested to see how it fared.

I am also worried about Port A, for the same reasons. Hoping it doesn't look like the bolivar peninsula after Ike.
Looks like it, and the tower on the Lighthouse inn fell on top of the building, but from the front of the Inn, it doesn't look like a complete loss.

Anyone by chance near Surfside? We have a house on County Beach. Hearing the surge isn't as bad as anticipated but wondering if the dunes are holding up.

He said on the air that he received that information second hand from the command center. He said he was just sharing it and it hasn't been confirmed.

Don't worry. Mainstream left-wing media is already prepared to downplay Texas' ability to handle such a disaster. If there is less destruction, loss, and suffering, it will be because Harvey just, quite frankly, didn't compare to the likes of Katrina.
