The problem isn't getting it to fly, it's landing it in winds that strong. That is outside of the landing envelope of most military aircraft, not to mention drones.

My mom confirmed the blue shed is part of the car wash business (I was thinking it could be a snack stand/raspas), and was like oooohhkayyy when I told her it was now famous on the internet. Hopefully their house is as strong as #blueshed.

Maybe the issue isn't the capability of drones but it's the fact they're not worried about getting pictures to post to social media and they're more concerned with helping the people that need it, assessing the damage, and safely starting the recovery process in a diaster area.

Current NWS projection shows Brazos River cresting at 55' (a record) by Tuesday. Last flood put water a few feet from breaching the levee here in Sienna Plantation. Hopefully 55' does not put it over.

I have a few friends in Rockport, anyone need a drive by an address let me know, no guarantees, but maybe I can have them take some pics. I won't let them place themselves in danger but never know.

Why are you heading out there? Tides are high, swells are high. I would not be impatient and rush down to the island. West End (Pirates especially) can flood with a normal rain storm let alone tropical systems.

For tropical stuff, Wunderground is good, their Cat6 blog is good. Crown Weather (requires a sub) is good. Hurricane Tracker is good.
I normally wouldn't say this on the Outdoors board, but given that mfbarnes has been proven to be active this week, I'd erase that post and DM it to Wink so you don't give someone a chance to discover any personal info.
