The Hubs was getting text messages from his relatives in Kentucky asking if we were all right all last night. People in other states just don't understand how big Texas really is. They know we no longer stay in Austin since I sold the house awhile back, but now the only reference point they have is Houston. Never mind we are over 150 miles inland from Houston.

Their other complaint was that we don't do FB to post that we were safe to save them the trouble of texting. Just no pleasing some people.

I've had a few say things like "be safe evacuating". When I respond "I'm not going anywhere since I live outside of Houston" it blows their little minds.

Ok. So looks like a slight to decent(Red and Dark green paths) that that high pressure system out west may juuuuuust be north enough so Harvey will squirt south of it and keep chugging along west into Mexico.

Alternative, Harvey is confirmed as a DUI and circles around and wrecks more *****

Jeff reporting from Copano Bay bridge this morning. Apparently the 18 wheeler they had move yesterday flipped. Airport destroyed. Other major damage. Only good news is they didn't see major storm surge as planned.

This. I've heard that my buddy's condo is a complete loss and that it took out DQ as well. It was on Cotter.

Also no info on his boat that was moored at Island Moorings.

this. i'm getting all kinds of messages from out of state friends. I lived out of state for almost 7 years, so I know A LOT of people who have never been to texas.

Why is it so hard in 2017 to get decent daytime shots of Port A ! You'd think they could have some sort of weatherproof drone that could scout the area.

Because there is only one dry way in, and it is currently blocked with 2-3 feet of debris. And current 60 mph winds would toss a drone around like a cat playing with a mouse. There were about 70 people that stayed behind, and it is highly doubt btful they have power. The only way anyone is getting to the island right now is by boat, and it isn't safe to do so.

My buddy that bunkered down in port a reported that his house is gone. He stayed in safe shelter but his residence is no mas
