If I was a cop or EMT in Rockport, I would be ashamed to show my face - if I maintained a "shelter in place" while people were dying.

I'm sitting in traffic in LA...just PayPal-ed $100 to American Red Cross specifically for hurricane Harvey relief. I suggest erry'one do the same. Or whatever u can provide

That is pretty severe. Luckily it doesn't look like the storm surge was as bad as advertised. Haven't heard from my dad in Lamar since 11, hope he's ok.

My sister is supposed to leave on a cruise from Galveston tomorrow. The cruise line has been very wishy washy on what is happening. They were told they would get an update at noon yesterday. That update was "Everything is fine, we are still watching the situation. We will provide another update at noon Saturday." Meanwhile, the Port of Galveston is closed and there is no way to dock the ship.

According to the AP they rescued the people in the Rockport senior living area and are being treated at the jail. The high school and courthouse received major damage. Brave first responders and glad they were able to find a stable shelter.
