EMT save lives of moron junkies all the time. You don't get to pick who's life is worth saving. People should not be in Rockport, but they are.
Nowhere to take the victims? Nonsense. A building might be collapsed on a family. Any place would be better than under a building.
Mandatory evacuation? If you didn't have any idiots, then cops would be unemployed.
If I was a cop or EMT in Rockport, I would be ashamed to show my face - if I maintained a "shelter in place" while people were dying.
Saving a junkie's life in normal weather an conditions is COMPLETELY different than going into a storm like this.
I agree, a life is a life, but the Cop's and Firefighter's lives matter too. No need to risk more lives than necessary.
As a police officer's wife, I feel free to tell you to take your troll elsewhere. I guarantee that those officers who are waiting it out right now, want to be helping, but also want to go home to their families at the end of this. They can do more good once the rough stuff has passed and they aren't battling the storm as well as the idiots.
I dont agree with birdmans hyperbole, but Jeff reported earlier he saw emergency crews out helping people.
I think birdman and me to a lesser degree were just talking about while they had a 3 hour block in the eye to try and help that they should if possible.... And it sounds like they are.
No one is expecting them to go out in 120mph winds and rescue people.
I think the last few pages are 2 sides arguing different points. Let's all relax because my guess is if we were sitting in a beachside bar we'd all be on the same page.
And remember to throw in an extra prayer for the victims & rescuers putting their lives on the line to help save lives.

The holidays and the natural disasters and crises that we didn't have our husbands' help or presence are hardships. They have dangerous jobs but not suicidal jobs.

I think no one has a clue where this storm will go.
While we wait for Jeff to come back, a little tip for those who still have power but might lose it sometime in the next week. Fill ziplock bags (gallon size or bigger) with water and freeze. If your power goes out you now have a bunch of giant ice blocks that take longer to melt and you wont have to fight people for bags of ice. Plus once they melt you still have fresh water.
This is for the LOLPOORS like myself who don't have a yeti that freeze everything that touches it.

I'll be surprised if Jeff comes back tonight. All the streams I was watching dropped at the same time. Likely cell tower/satellite related.

Jeff won't be back tonight. Almost all chasers were cell only and that's been lost. Jeff has a sat phoned. It coverage was deteriorating on his last broadcast.
