EMT save lives of moron junkies all the time. You don't get to pick who's life is worth saving. People should not be in Rockport, but they are.

Nowhere to take the victims? Nonsense. A building might be collapsed on a family. Any place would be better than under a building.

Mandatory evacuation? If you didn't have any idiots, then cops would be unemployed.

If I was a cop or EMT in Rockport, I would be ashamed to show my face - if I maintained a "shelter in place" while people were dying.

If you've ever worked in any type of refinery especially a sour gas plant you get the concept of not rescuing people when conditions aren't favorable.

Just results in more loss.

the mother of one of my daughter's classmates is dating some guy down in Rockport who owns a bar. She's down there with her daughters riding this thing out in dip****'s bar. My wife and her friends are livid at this woman.

Watching Jeff I have to keep telling myself this isn't fake, there are no guarantees it'll be a happy ending and its nerve racking..

There are several people that could not leave like my mother. She works in a medical center that could not be completely evacuated and as a nurse she stayed. I am not happy with the facility management but that is another rant. There are several others that needed to stay. Critical controls, first responders and medical professionals. Those are the people that need the support not the idiots that just didn't want to go.

I grew up on the coast and when things got bad we left. I know all the stories from storms past. You did not need money to leave. Buses were sent and all the state parks have free camping. I have people staying with me now and I am headed down next week to clean up as I have after every storm.

This rant was much longer but it is not worth it. I will get to the point.

This is not the place to bash first responders that stayed behind to help people for how you feel they should be working. Along with the military they are some of the bravest people on this earth that are under paid and put their life on the line on a regular basis for other people. They don't need to be out in one of the worst natural disasters to in this states history to save someone that was given plenty of warning and did not heed the advise.

If this is a troll job, this is not the time or place. I am watching this board for updates I cannot get elsewhere.
